On October 8, 2026, Consul General Mme. Zhao Liying met with Alberta’s Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental and International Relations, Mr. Mark Kleefeld, in Edmonton. Deputy Consul General Mr. Liang Lin and Alberta’s Representative in China, Mr. Amir Ahmadi Rashti, were also present.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on advancing the China-Canada New Strategic Partnership, strengthening ties between Alberta and the Chinese provinces of Heilongjiang and Guangdong, and expanding practical cooperation in key areas such as energy, agriculture, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
