On October 2, 2026, Deputy Consul General Liang Wei led a consular services team to Edmonton, Alberta, to provide on-site services for local Chinese community members, including passport and travel document applications, notarization services, and pension eligibility verification.

This was the second time the Chinese Consulate General in Calgary has conducted on-site consular services in Edmonton since the beginning of 2026, and the initiative was warmly welcomed by the local Chinese community. Community members expressed their appreciation for the Consulate General’s efforts to bring consular services directly to them during the National Day holiday, saying that the initiative conveyed holiday greetings and care from the motherland while providing great convenience for the local Chinese community.
