In order to provide better service for applicants of visas for Hong Kong and Macao SAR of China, we are making changes to the application process. Starting from May 1st, 2019, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (hereinafter referred to as “CVASC”) will start to accept visa applications for Hong Kong and Macao SAR submitted by ordinary passport holders. Effective on the same day, the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Calgary will no longer accept visa applications for Hong Kong and Macao SAR.

III. Business Hours and Fees

●Business hours: Mon.-Fri. (except for Chinese and Canadian public holidays)

  Application Submission: 9:00AM to 3:00PM

  Payment and Pickup: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

●Fees: The CVASC charges visa application fee and premium processing fee on behalf of the Chinese Consulate-General. Additional service fee applies. Detailed fee information could be found on the CVASC’s official website or through direct consultation with the CVASC.

IV. Processing Time

●A regular application that is not subject to the approval by the Hong Kong or Macao SAR Government is usually ready for pick up on the 4th working day after you submit your application. A request for express service (sooner than four working days) should be approved by a consular officer, and premium processing fee will be charged when approved.

●The processing time for applications which shall be forwarded to Hong Kong or Macao SAR for approval might be extended to around 4 weeks.

V. Special Reminders

●Besides the CVASC, applicants may also submit applications directly to the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR or the Immigration Department of the Public Security Police Force of Macao SAR.

●The CVASC does not make decisions in the approval process of visa application.

● Those who are diplomatic, service (special or official) passport holders, who intend to apply for diplomatic, official or courtesy visas for Hong Kong and Macao SAR of China, and who are Chinese citizens intending to apply for entry permits of Hong Kong SAR, can still submit applications to the Chinese Consulate-General (Address: 1011 6 AVE SW, Calgary, AB; Office Hours: 09:00-12:00, except for Canadian and Chinese public holidays).
